Im talking if the ps3 20 gb version can be connected to the internet wiht one of those usb wifi adaptors that you use to connect your laptop to wifi connections, those little adaptors that look like memory sticks, something like this:
i wanna know cause im thinking onb getting one on ebay so i can connect wirelessly, i heard somewhere that you can do this as long as the adapter supports WPA, so anyone has an idea?
If you have the 20GB , there going to offical ps3 sony wireless adapters , also you can upgrade you 20GB to wat ever u want:) if u know what your doing...
yes i know theres a big chance of sony releasing wireless modems for the 20 gb ps3 but as always you know that just by carrying the "sony" or "ps3" name the product has 20 or 30 dllrs more in the price, and just because they want to, so i was looking for something that may provide the same result... u know how blank cds for data are way more cheaper than cds that are "supposed" to be just for music, thats how merchandising works, they sell the same stuff but with different names...and yes i knew about the hard disk replacement....but why would i need bigger space?? more demos? game isos?? until they do some emulation or something like that i think thats when im gonna change my hdd..what do you think?
I apologize for bumping a thread from February. Trust me, I know how annoying it is.
But the original poster's question is one that I've always had. Will these USB wifi adapters work with the PS3? These wifi adapters require a Windows operating system. Does it not matter? Or do I need an OS on the PS3?

The Wifi usb adapter didn't work. Almost all adapters on the market need an operating system, thus, it ain't gonna happen. However, the Linksys wireless gaming adapter DOES work. In fact, it worked like a charm. I finally have online gaming lol.

just get yourseld a logitech play ink wireless bridge.. they run for about 20-40 depends where you get them. It consists of two boxes that connect wireless with each other. and the boxes connect via ethernet cable to the router and ps3(or anything like ps3 or pc)
