If i make a backup of my game, and I later want to re-copy it, is the best method to do a 1:1 copy, from 1 drive, to the writer, I tried to backup a copy of gears of war, first by using clone cd, and I got a coaster, I then did a backup 1:1, and it worked perfect, would just like to know what is the best suitable method. And also some of my backups dont read in my computer drive after being burned but work perfect on the 360, can I make a backup of these using the same 1:1 copy method, when I insert them in my computer drive, they appear as an empty disk.

LOL, u got that right dude, I rip my games of the samsung drive to my external 80gb, my laptop hd is 80 too, but i dont rip direct to it, connect the samsung to my laptop via usb to ide converter, and rip the games, then after i've burned it, i delete the images. Anyway, so far 1:1 method is working best for me.

if you want to make a copy of a copy, and you already have your backup doisc, all you need is DVD Decrypter & imgburn
dead easy
XB360 hitachi xtreme f/ware, chameleon case, whisper & airflow blue led. XBOX w/ 2.6 2x custom "djboogie" bios. PSP 1.50 w/ devhook .52 % 303 f/ware.

DVD Decrypter doesnt work too good when it comes to copying already backed up 360 games for me, works fine for my ps2 games, but not for my 360, i just use Nero 1:1 backup now. Works PERFECT. :P

If your referring to Nero, it depends which version your using, you just go into Nero start smart, click on backup then copy dvd, then setup the booktype to dvd-rom, and start burning, I've used this method 6 times now, and it works perfect.

hi
I use DVD Decrypter just to re create the image, then use imgburn to burn it (the same way as I do when ripping an original with my sammy)
I find this better (for me at least) with the nme capability (which i do for every disc)
I have heard people having success with Nero though too:-))

youre right it is dependant on the version, its a "stability" of versions with Nero that sort of turns me off from it.
I used stomp recordnow max for xb1 DVDR discs for 4 years, cant remember having one coaster, they need to stay with wat works, not screw up diff versions@
good point

Yep, you will also have to click quick copy so that it copies direct from the copy to the blank, this way works perfect for me, hasnt made a single coaster.

yes, you need a dual layer burner and some good quality dual layer discs like Verbatim DVD+R DL
and make sure you know what DVD drive is on your 360, some require you to make stealth back ups and some require you to booktype the media to DVD-Rom
The Samsung drive flashed with Xtreme52 firmware will not need either as it auto patches the DMI and PFI files for stealth, and you do not have to booktype (although i do anyway)

so let me get this straight - to make a backup of a backup i need to do the following:
1) put an already backed up 360 game into the kreon flashed samsung drive and create image using DVD decryptor
2) once completed burn the image with imgburn onto a DL DVD with no extra measures taken such as ss merging etc
i still have a couple of questions:
1) do i still need to booktype to DVD-ROM when burning the game?
2) is a .dvd file created and if so do i need to burn that?
thanks
Currently on my 7th PS3 and 4th Xbox, gotta love technology..

You can do it as you have said above, but the copy doesnt need to be put in the kreon drive, it can be put in an ordinary dl dvd reader drive. I would recommend you booktype the media, I do so even though it isnt really necessary with xtreme 5.2, and if you are making a image using DVD Decrypter, then yes, you do need to burn it using the .dvd file, because this contains the layerbreak information, and tells the burner when to start copying onto the second layer of the disk.
Hope that helps
