I updated to emule 0.30a a few weeks ago and only in the past few days, video and audio in all formats and apps (mp3, mov, DIVX, VCD; winamp, quicktime, windows media player, powerdvd) stutters about every 30 seconds. Emule doesn't seem to be consuming a lot of resources (it's not hashing or causing hard drive thrashing, and everything else works fine). Video & audio stutter only when emule is running. They work fine after emule closes, regardless of other other apps running.

I've tried adjusting buffer size both ways, clearing out the server list, reducing max connections from 90 to 75 (I have Win98, and emule says this OS can't handle over 100), and tweaking some of the stats and display settings to reduce CPU usage. No effect.

I've searched these forums and google for various forms of emule stuttering. Any helpful ideas or thoughts welcome.

You have? I didn't encounter it until a few days ago, and I haven't changed any major settings. (I changed some to see if they'd have any effect, and changed them back when they didn't.)

Even mp3's stutter, whereas everything is fine once I close emule. Probably I'd get more downloaded if I kept it running 24/7, but I like to listen to music and watch the stuff I've downloaded. :)

I don't even know what might cause it, because this stuttering hasn't occurred in any other situation. (even torrent the few times I used it, though it's possible I didn't play music/videos while I had it running)
