Alright so I asked this questions a very long time ago and I think some one said "There's no need to mod PS3's because you just connect a hard drive to them". I'm confused, what is the present info today on modding /playing backups on your PS3? Can you do it yet? Yes? No? How? When? Where?
you cannot do it currently, but in the coming weeks, as the european launch passes, paradox will release their iso loader. it won't require a mod chip as it is a tiff exploit. the one condition is that its only been confirmed to work up to v1.50 so dont go any higher than that.
It is currently possible to rip games TO the HDD but NOT PLAY them. For this you need some sort of iso loader, as they are called. right now the rumor is that one will be comming out on or sometime around the 23rd, as this is the euro release, by a group called Paradox. Look around the web, here and ps3news.com for more on that.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...
@anubis- yeah, i was wrong; up to 1.51 is confirmed. however, hte loader that used the other os was made by the person who works for sony wo it wont be released. paradox, on the ohter hand, are supposedly using a tiff exploit similar to the psp.
