HELP....

When I burn a Movie I use AnyDVD first then I go to DVD Shrink to compress down. My problem is everytime I try to copy a movie that was produced by sony I get an error "cannot read drive D:\" I have no problem with any other movies including alliance atlantis. The latest movies that gave me trouble were casion royal and the holiday. Any suggestions...

Check out this thread on both movies for what to do & use - link.

They both have the same newer Sony copy protection that Shrink w/ AnyDVD - full disc doesn't work on.

You should definetely go with AnyDVD and CloneDvd2. Trust me, it's worth the extra bucks. Ripit4me also uses shrink if you're a Shrink fan.

Yeah pstamer AnyDVD & CloneDVD is the easiest combo out there. I agree worth the money imho too.

Always good to have arsenal at your disposal too :)

The combo of AnyDVD-Shrink has not been working lately on new movies. And has been a "sticker in my foot" for a while. They seem to be wanting everyone to buy CloneDVD. NeroRecode will work; and also the ripit4me combo that pstamer suggested.

The others are right, AnyDVD no longer works very well with DVD Shrink when the heavier copy protection (sony) is involved. Here's the easy freeware alternative that's already been suggested.

The rip takes a little longer because it incorporates FixVTS. Casino Royale takes a bit longer than normal due to all the extra nasty copy protection (100 IFOs and 92 bogus VTS according to my software count). However, when done the ripped files will work with any software you choose. Choose one of the file rip modes and do the rip in 1-Click mode.

@PacMan777

I was under the impression that Ripit4me now incorporates VoBlanker instead of FixVTS. Is this true or does it still use FixVTS in the newest update?

The info is in the changelog. Here's and excerpt from 1.7.0.0. Nothing with the FixVTS code was changed in the latest Beta that I'm aware of.

Quote:
Version 1.7.0.0 (28 February 2007)

First version that integrates our adaptation of FixVTS. There is no need to have FixVTS installed anymore. Several options concerning FixVTS have been renamed/removed, including the FixVTS log, which is now included (and much simplified) into the RipIt4Me log
