How can I get my monitor to work with the PS3 I bought 2 different HDMI-DVI cords and neither works, I just get a black screen.

AFAIK the Samsung SyncMaster931B is not HDCP compliant so an HDMI-DVI connection from the PS3 will not work.

There's a list of HDCP compliant monitors on ps3forums:

The widescreen Syncmaster 931BW is listed as HDCP compliant but your 931B (which is non-widescreen) is not.

I have a samsung 215tw and I am useing a HDMI to dvi cable and I get no picture does anyone know what I have to do.my monitor is hdcp compliant

I think right now my ps3 is set to 1080i do I need to set it to 720p so I can see the picture(only reason I am asking is because my 42'' samsung is in the shop)

try turning off your ps3 and then turn it back on by holding the reset button until you hear a beep (around 6-8 seccs). that should do the trick.
