hi all,
My brother-in-law just got the new PS3.
None of his PS2 games would work and he couldn't get his HDMI cable working on the Sony Bravia TV.

Anyway got Cable working.

And downloaded the Ireland/European version 1.60 (approx 105Mb)update to a USB drive for him.
Installed it to his PS3 this morning and now his PS2 games work, strangely enough the games Sony had given 1 mark out of 3 for backward compatibility worked fine on his machine with the 1.60 firmware, I can't really comment on the graphics but they looked fine to me.

Sony did state that they will try to improve the compatability list with updates.
