hi just got my ps3 today for ?788
which included
1.60gb ps3
2.def jam icon
3.Resistance: Fall of Man
4.MotorStorm
5.extra sony pad
6.sony blu ray dvd remote


can ye tell me what is the lowest firmwall that i can play games online(i can surf the internet fine but when i go to register to play games online it says need update)but i dont wanna update to the newest as i want to play back up games.at the moment i have 1.50.

officially you need to upgrade to firmware 1.6 to get online for gaming. I seen that there is a way to bypass this check that was used previously for firmware 1.54 and below. Im not sure if it works with the new update as i personally havent tried it yet. just look through the forum here and youll find the way they did it. not sure if is a sticky but it here since that was a big topic of discussion a few weeks ago.

I have 1.5 firmware and use ps3proxy it is easy to use and instructions can be found on ps3news.
