DVD shrink fails to burn everytime now

I'm not sure what changed and i'm not doing anything differently but now every movie I try to backup fails to burn. This is the log I get after each failure. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Its kind of long. sorry about that-

1st thing edit out the serial # - top of log and begins w/ 4C.
Don't need someone else using it.
No biggie on long log - this is short compared to Nero Vision ones :)
Here's some suggestions:
Nero API version: 7.0.0.0
Update Nero - the latest is 7.8.5.0.
Quite a few fixes and enhancements since the version you're using.
Recorder: <PLEXTOR DVDR PX-716A> Version: 1.02
Firmware on the burner is a bit behind too - update to the latest - 1.10.
CdRomPeripheral : SAMSUNG CD-ROM SH-152A atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off
May not be playing into this error but best to have all drives in DMA mode. Here's a guide to turn it back on - link
Disc Manufacturer ID: CMC MAG
Not the best by far. Better to use would be Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.
Burn process failed at 16x
Take it down to 8x.
Give that a go and let us know.

Focus or tracking error
E: PLEXTOR DVDR PX-716A
This error could mean a few things:
1)The burner is unhappy with your choice of media
2)The burner is failing, somethings' wrong with the unit
Try slowing it down to 4x using your current media, if that doesn't work, try Sony or Verbatim disks, if the process still fails for the same reason, time to try a new burner.

I'd definitely dump the ones you are using - CMC.
They come with brand names like Memorex, TDK, HP etc.
Look for the ones we've suggested above.
I've been there done that w/ CMC made discs & a quite a few others :) Even the ones that did burn became useless months later.
The bright side is discs are pretty cheap now - in the US Verbs go on sale regularly for like 50 for 14.99.
