I am running Vista Ultimate and DVD Shrink 3.2. The problem I am having is that everytime I close the program it no longer recognizes my burner. I have the latest version of Nero. If I uninstall and reinstall DVD Shrink it works, but soon as I close the program and opens it back up it no longer recognizes my burner and I have to repeat the process all over again. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the replys. I tried to run shrink in compatibility mode but it did not do anything. Just for kicks, I left clicked on shrink and opened it up as an administrator and my dvd drive was there. Dont know why this is since I'm the only one on my cpu and when I initially set up my password I set it up as an administrator. Anyway it works, now. Just have to figure out that administrator thing.

@lilbigman...dont be put off by using shrink, even if you have to renstall it everytime (takes what, 20 seconds?) cos it is a superb bit of kit.It is irrelevant that it is 'old' and doesnt update, if used to 'shrink' a protection free set of vobs it can be ten years old...it is superior by far to clone dvd 2 if you have to compress 70% or less....try both with a movie of 60 % and the result is outstanding.I use both programs depending on the compression needed, but always use AnyDVD to run whilst ripping. With these and decrypter there is nothing that cant be ripped and burned.Im holding off changing to vista to avoid the probs that people like you are having...in fact ive taken vista off of a new laptop and put on xp pro.Sweet as a nut.Best of luck!!

I had the same problem, but once i changed the settings for the DEP mode and included DVD Shrink then it was fine. Go to Control Panel - System and Maintenance - System. Then go to Advanced System Settings and go to the Advanced tab, then under Performance, click on the SETTINGS button. There you can click on the Data Execution Prevention tab and Add teh DVD shrink program to expempt the DEP that is currently denying the program.
hope that helped.
