try searching for it first. you need to know your firmware and your motherboard for you to be able to downgrade.

psplife: Ceramic White 2.71 TA-082> 1.5> 3.03OE-C> installed custom themes> semibricked on the 3rd try> 1.5> 3.30OE-A> 3.10OE-A'> 3.03OE-C> 3.40 OE-A> 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33 update 4 > 3.71M33 > 3.71M33-3

With a 1.5, you can play most games via devhook. Google it, making sure to make an ISO folder in MS_root and placing all iso's their. That is old school though.

Either use one of the installer's in this thread, or upgrad manually to any OE firmware, preferably 3.03 OE or 3.40 OE, i suggest 3.40 OE. The concept is the same, make an ISO folder, put the games in it. The benefit of this is that you wont need loaders such as devhook, you will be able to launch your games directly from the xmb.

Hi, i jsut got my psp today, and upgraded it to 3.40 oe-a using the easyinstaller.

there were a few things i wanted to check, like going into recovery mode-> configurations. but after that the screen just turns blank then the console shuts itself off.

also, i couldnt get the games running. they were running fine on fw 1.5 though. wat should i change with regards to the game / location to enable them to be played on 3.40 oea? pls help thanks.

anyone know how could i downgrade from 3.40oe-a to 1.5 again?

i know u'll be wondering why would i want that, its because my games arent working on 3.40oea, and until i get the time to figure out why (exams now), i'll stick back with 1.5 for the time being.

Putting homebrew in GAME150 will have 0 impact unless you change the kernel settings via the recovery menu. I would reinstall whatever OE you are using and try again. GAME150 is not necessary for anything besides homebrew.

i installed 3.03oe-c, then upgraded to 3.40oe-a again...and i still cant enter my configurations in recovery mode?

after cliking config in recov mode, the screeen goes blank for 5 secs than it reboots itself. Every other option works fine, like advanced configs, plugins, etc... its only the configuration that i'm unable to access. any help? please?...

i have a feeling my kernel isnt set the 1.5 in config, thats why i cant play my games.

Are you doing this manually or using one of these lame installers? I cant help if you are using an installer, never used on. If you are in fact using an installer, try doing it yourself, it is very easy.

Kernel mode MEANS NOTHING when trying to playing iso's! They will play regardless if the kernel is set to 1.5 or 3.40. The kernel is really only important for homebrew.

Like i said, i was new to all of these, so i went for the installers. tried doing it manually, but couldnt understand the readme files :P

i manage to recover back to 1.50 though at the end. regarding ISO or homebrews...whats the difference? more like...whats ISOs?

could you teach me how to upgrade firmware to 3.40oe MANUALLY without these installers. i realise that after using these installers, i cant access my configurations. does this happen to everyone? i'm willing to go manual to fix this problem if someone could teach me how =D cheers

iso = a ripped image from a UMD

homebrew = emulators, games created by developers not seeking profit, etc.

Here is how to do this by hand.

1. DL this, it has everything you need ready to go. http://rapidshare.com/files/27061679/340OEA.rar

2.After unraring, put the 2 oeupdmaker folder into the game folder (if you are a 1.5 user) or GAME150 (if you already have another version of OE).

3.Run the prog on your psp, this will make a DXAR file.

4.Now stick the 2 340oeflasher folder onto your mem stick just like the oeupdmaker folders. Move the DXAR file from the oeupdmaker folder to the 340oeflasher folder.

5.Run the flasher prog, when it is done you have a 3.40 OE-A!
You can delete all these files off your mem stick when you are done, all they are doing now is taking up space.

EDIT

MAKE SURE TO BE CHARGING YOUR PSP WHEN DOING THIS!

no...flash1 contents arent important. you can just go to recovery mode, toggle flash1, then on your windows, just delete everything inside.

Not sure about your problem, whether its exactly the same as mine where you cant excess configs in recovery mode. but if it is the same, just follow wat i said above and you should b fine.

basically deleting flash1 files just resets your configurations (e.g. date, time zone, name...etc)

i think with the 1.5 recovery pack, you dont even have to back up flash0 either.

i tried flashing from 3.40-1.5-3.40 over and over again but i found the solution in another forum.
