Ok, so I don't think I'll really be able to find a solution to my problem, but here goes:

I just picked up a PC Logitech Nascar USB racing wheel and pedal set for dirt cheap yesterday ($15 brand new). I figured I'd see if it worked with the PS3; if so, great, if not then what's $15, right?

So I brought it home, plugged it in, and surprisingly it actually works, but here's the issue: the racing wheel acts like the X axis of the left analog stick, which is fine, however the pedals sends a signal that acts like the Y axis of the left analog stick as well. Most racing games don't offer you the option to custom all your controls exactly to your liking. In fact, of all the racing games that I tried (Ridge Racer 7, NFS:Carbon, and the GT HD Demo), only GT HD had a fully customizable controls setup.

So I guess I have 2 questions:
1. Does Motorstorm offer a fully customizable control setup?
2. Is there any possibility of changing the way that the pedals send their signal as? Like any hardware modification (soldering wires or something) or something so that they can act like the L2 R2 trigger, or Y axis of the right analog stick? I know this may be a difficult task, and probably the average person won't know the answer to this, but is anyone here an electrical engineer or something and able to tell me if this is a feasible possibility?
