I have been using DVD Shrink with AnyDVD running in the background for over a year now and love the software - but I am noticing lately (say in the last 2 weeks) that it is running slower ... takes an hour to back up instead of half an hour ... anybody experiencing that problem? Anybody tried Shrink 2007?

Check you're drive and make sure all the transfer modes are in DMA.
Here's a guide guide.

Nope haven't tried Shrink 2007 - not fond of programs that use another programs name to get someone use/buy it.

Thanks Bink ... seems to have sped up to its original speed - although one Channel remained PIO it seems to have reset itself.

You're welcome mepinkus
Uninstalling the ide channel usually does the trick. If not you can also try uninstalling the drive that's in PIO mode in device manager then rebooting and letting Windows reinstall.

I also noticed awhile back my DVD Shrink was running slow, it took almost 1hr to complete backup of movie. I checked the above, defrag my drive. I then found out that turning of my DSL connection, firewall and antvirus was a problem. It now takes less than 30 minutes to shrink and backup a movie.

Thanks
