Hi

What is the actual difference between UK PAL PS3's and foreign PS3's such as the NTSC Jap? My friend said the Japanese ones are better but he couldn't say for what reason. Can some1 please help me out.

There really exactly the same though the NTSC versions have more games available i believe, so im guessing thats what your friend meant by better.

I believe the Jap PS3 has hardware to deal with backwards combatability where as the Europian PS3 uses emulation for backwards combatability. Thus Jap PS3's can play a wider selection of PS1 and PS2 games.

hmmmm but isn't the playstation multi regional. Meaning that i can play the more available NTSC games on a UK PS3.

Yes that is true im just not sure if they would display properly without a converter.
