I want to buy a ps3 from the usa but I will take it in Europe. I would like to know if the games are region free because they told me that are coded to region 1.What happens with NTSC and PAL. Is there a converter or something

only way is to mod the ps3.and to this day there is no modchip.maybe there never will be........so buy a ps3 in the uk but wait til christmas when they go on sale.

in a ps3 magazine wich i bought b4 i got the ps3, it had 23 things sony dosnt tell you tips, 1 was ALL Blu-ray DVDS AND Blu-ray GAMES ARE NOT REAGION LOCKED, ..... perry07

Last I heard all PS3 games at the moment are region free, but blueray films are region coded.
As far as NTSC and PAL is concerned, so long as your tv is reasonably new it should have no problem with either signal.
Your main problem would be that the US is 110v and most of Europe including the UK are 240v supply. You would need a step down transformer to power a US machine on a 240v mains supply.

oops sorry i thought ps3 games would be too because movies are but u cant play usa games online in europe i think

sorry made a mistake, games arwe region free but your uk ps3 wont like usa or jap Blu-ray dvds,any other cuntry is fine

(american and jap Blu-ray movies wont play on a uk ps3)
3.wake your ps3 up by remote controll
(jus press the ps button on your sixaxis wen the ps3 in opn stand by)
4.the secrect video reset
5.braodcast to your psp
6.get game saves off the net
7.custoise your slide shows
8.install another operating system
9.make free video phone calls via usb headset
10.browse multiple internet windows at once
11.hack any password
12.get your ps2 game save onto your ps3
(u need a ps3 memory card adaptor)
13.download music and piks
14.force ps3 to show your stuff
15.see how much charge is on your pad
16.have a light show
17.play any video format on ps3
(ps3video9, converts most files including AVI)
18.manage your online cash
19.store all your stuff(ps3 backup)

where do you get game saves from ive used my pc to get games saves then transfered them to my ps3 via memory device how do u do it straight from the ps3

jus pop in ur usb stick or wateva, go 2 the ps3 save data thing
i thinks its triangle and copy and select your usb stick job done

guys i got one more question. how come on the boxes of the ps3 games in the usa says that they are region 1 and you told me before that they are region free?

dose it?!?... i read in a ps3 mag that they are region free :S i duno then bruv, google it or something(are ps3 games region locked - google)
