Those who seen how DivX looks on HDTV, can you please say if it is watchable ?

I have a 40 inch HDTV 1080i LCD TV and I am about to sell my MEDIAGATE MG-350 Hard Drive Network Media Player which plays all divx/xvid files on my TV well and get a PS3 instead.

Want to confirm that with Ubuntu on PS3 DivX is watchable on 40 inch TV ?

It all depends on the settings you encoded with, size of the resolution etc.

bitrate 700 or higher is better.
Original aspect and size kept, normally 604x480 or there abouts.
Any thing smaller, blown up on your screen will look untidy.
