Recently I've been having some problems with backing up my dvds
Everything works fine as far as loading the disc but when I hit the backup button (either in full backup or re-author mode) Dvd shrink just stops and closes itself.

First try unchecking the burn with nero option in its preferences section, have the files saved on your hard drive then burn them to disk manually. Some versions of nero have been know to cause this.

Second, if the first suggestion doesn't solve the problem, download and install DVDFab decrypter (free), use it to rip the video files to your hard drive, then open the files using shrink and let it do its thing.
