I'm doing my first DVD shrink
ripped with decrypter -
loaded into shrink -
selected my options
there is NO RED in the top capacity bar...it's all green
but when I try to burn it says:
"DVD Shrink encountered an eror and cannot continue
There is not enough space on your target drive"

any ideas?
I've tried multiple blank DVDs

Actually, shrink is looking at your hard drive (for temp storage). There are two reasons why this would happen:

1)Your hard drive is too full and doesn't have enough room on it to store the temperary files.

2)It's a copy protection issue, shrink is outdated so it's going to have problems with some DVD releases and so produces false errors.

So....

If your har drive is close to being full, try and clear some space, at least 16GB fot the temp files.

If it's copy protection, try ripping with DVDFab then open the files using shrink and let it do its thing after that. The link to DVDfab is given below. If shrink gives you a problem when trying to open the files DVDFab created then you'll have to process them thru FixVTS first then open with shrink.

Here you can get FixVTS (free) and a simple guide on use.

We Have A Winner!
Actually I beat you to it but you're right none the less...
i switched my target to create ISO and burn with DVD decrypter
that did the same thing so it dawned on me that shrink must want to create a fiished (shrunk/compressed) file before burning.
Didi just as recommended (only cleared about 5gig) and I am in business...thanks for the help!
