Old thread, but since these forums are a good resource, for problems, I thought I'd leave some help on record. I have this problem sometimes, and it's usually because I'm in too much of a hurry, and don't pay enough attention. First, the basic rules. You can't use certain things in a name. I quote from excellent source, MR. BASS: "Volume Label: shows only in windows explorer. 32 characters maximum. Only ABC123 and _ allowed." In other words, no spaces, (only underlines) no special characters, CAPS only, and no more than 32. That's Windows, I guess.
It usually has to do with the file name on the last tab matching exactly the name where you're sending it, on the first tab. Be sure you didn't just mis-type something, first. Next be sure that you're saving it to exactly where you think you did. I back up to separate hard drives, and since the folder location (first tab) seems to remember better than I do where I was messing around last time, 80% of the time I found that I got the right folder name but on the wrong drive, or something in the location is off. Check every bit of the path, y'know, like C:\Documents and Settings\etc, and make sure that you're in the right place, and that the place where you said to save is actually there and available. Otherwise, the program is actually objecting because you're sending it somewhere that doesn't exist. And I just did it again- sent it to drive E when I'm supposed to be in drive C- which is what I'm doing here, in the first place. No matter what the problem ends up being, it always leaves me mumbling to myself something like, "what a dummy...."
