This should be posted in the DVD Shrink forum, I'll ask for it to be moved.

I don't have Vista for that reason. You are trying to run old software with an unforgiving operating system. Vista blaimed pirates for low sales until they fixed the problem. Now it is almost impossible to buy XP. Funny how when there was no choice between OSs sales jumped. Sounds like the problem was not pirates it was the junk software. Now their problem is your problem!

I am a new member. I do not know whether your problem has been resolved. However, after I got my new computer with window vista, I've got the same problem just as you mentioned. Since I have no one to ask, and I know too little about computer, I had to play around by myself. I found that all I have to do is: when I got an error message, I reinstall the DVD Shrink and it begins to work and encoding without any problem. However, it will work for only once and you'll get the same error message again if you want to continuously copy another one. All you need to do is to reinstall it again and it will go back to work for another "one" copying. Hope this will help.

I have Vista Home Basic and I have to reinstall the Shrink everytime before it can start the encoding. I asked and someone told me that the Shrink only support up to Window XP and not suppose to fit the Vista.

You start the program with permission by right-clicking it, then clicking Run As Administrator
