Whoops! I changed the "region" of my DVD Shrink one too many times and now I can't change it back from Region 1 to Region 2 and use it for European DVDs.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software and even looking for more recent versions to see if I could "start" again with the region changes (I think you get 5 chances to change the region) but nothing works.

Can anyone help me or is my DVD Shrink now stuffed forever?
Thanks :)

If you would have allowed DVD Shrink to make your discs Region free instead of changing the region setting on your drive you would be in luck...however, as stated you are only allowed 5 changes and now the drive must be returned to the vendor to be reset.

Thanks for your help. I did let it remain region free when it shrinked/shrunk but when I got a DVD from USA and tried to shrink it, it would ask me to change it from Region 2 to Region 1... and that is where I got flummoxed.

When you say the drive must be returned to the vendor? What does that mean? DVD Shrink is freeware so do you mean take my laptop into an IT specialist to do their thing with it?

I'm not techno saavy (like you needed to be told) so I am sorry if some of these questions are redundant.

I'm not sure if your local "tech guru" can unlock the drive...and as in vendor I mean: If it is a Samsung drive send it back to Samsung, if it is a Lite-On drive send it back to Lite-On...etc.
