I have been using dvd shrink for making copies of my existing dvd collection. I just tried ripping "The Bone Collector" and it got about 46% in to analyzing and then a box popped up that stated: "cyclic redundancy error" failed to read g: Now, I am somewhat good on computers and I love dvd shrink because it is simple, easy, and to the point. I tried using dvdfab, and it got 42.38% in to the movie and just quit, so I could use some help? Please???

The question of "cyclic redundancy error" has more threads than I've had hot dinners I reckon! The error can generally be put down to a scratched or dirty disc. The choice of Ripping software plays THE major part in backing up, along with burn speeds and media quality.

Please use the search function and type in "cyclic redundancy error" or "crc" minus the quotes and have a good read. Your woes are almost over. :)

yup you have a bad/scratched/dirty DVD try cleaning it or get another one
