Ok now i need to clarify this with the After dawn population because I know for a fact this doesn't exist (at least at the moment). Ok my friend said he purchased a PS3 off eBay and he received it within the past week .

Now he claims that it plays burnt PS2 games , he claims he was playing Dragon Ball Z : Budokai Tenkaichi , Now I'm not too sure if a mod for playing burnt PS2 games on the PS3 is out yet (apart from the Swap Switch which requires a switch to be turned on) but he claims that the PS3 hadn't been opened and it is playing burnt PS2 games straight out from the box.

Is this possible I kept telling my friend it wasn't but he seemed pretty sure it was, unless the seller he bought it off opened it himself and modded it thats the only conclusion I can come up with. Thanks in advance

Life is too short! to have problems

As of yet there are no methods to play burnt ps2 games on the ps3 without opening the case.
(Although it is possible with PS1 games.)

I've seen my ps1 game backup work on my ps2 ever.

The trick is you need an original ps1 game. Load the ps1 game at the browser screen, when it gets black, eject the cd with swap tool, put in your copied ps1 game. The layer will make some noise, close the tray and it will suppose to load the backup ps1 game.
