so i noticed you can put an OS on the ps3 so i was wondering if you can play computer games on the ps3??

i do not own a PS3 yet will be buying 1 in 2 weeks just curious if it is possible to play computer game on it like Counter Strike Source??

and can you use keyboard and mouse on the ps3 (like you can on a computer)

TY in advance if no one replys i will follow up in 2 weeks to confirm if it is possible

not sure about games but you can definetly use a mouse and keyboard but they have to be USB

As far as i know you can't launch 3D programs in an OS, so games wouldn't work i think.

In the other os (linux) the hypervisor blocks the graphics card from being accessed so no as of now its not possible. The only game I've seen run in linux is Doom and it was laggy.

I thought that I read a program that allowed you to do it, but I can't recall the name of it and for all I know, It could have been fake.

that was probably wine. it allows you to run windows application under linux, but it doest work with the ppc architecture, and sony made it so you cant access the graphics card so no 3-d graphics...yet.
