Do your programs stop before the burning process, or does it go all the way to the end and your DVD's wont play on anything?
We still need more information.

What happens is, when it is done encoding, it asks for a blank DVD-R. When I put in a DVD+R, it says that it is an invalid media format and asks for the correct media (if I put in a DVD-R then it starts burning). My brother also has DVD shrink and says that he can record on DVD+R's. Also, it is not my drive my drive is a Sony DVD+-RW.

Try a different brand of DVD+R media, see if that helps. Is your Sony burner's firmware up to date?
It actually could be your drive. They do go bad occasionally and firmware gets out of date.

Sorry, I forgot to post that I solved my problem. All I had to do was select "No Region" when it asked for the region encoding for the dvd. Thanks for your help anyway.

Well that's about as weird as I've seen Shrink get. I've never seen that error be solved by that particular solution before. Seems to me if it was a "Region" problem, neither format would work, but, that fixed it! which is what we wanted!
Good luck and happy burning,
Frank
