ok i have YDL 5.01 I was able to get xmame running but i have 3 problems. first i cant configure the controller. second i cant get most of the roms to work. they say something about missing files and third the frontend for xmame, GXMAME when i open this there is no roms in there. i have plenty of them but gxmame doesnt see them. what should i do

Keep all of your roms in a folder in a location of your choosing. Click on your rom then click "open with" then search for gxmame. That will open up your rom in your mame frontend. As far as your controller goes there should be an option under your frontend to configure it. I have had problems with my ps3 controller in linux so I use a cheap pc pad and it works fine. For your roms not working I couldnt tell you.

hey Zero what is the best MAME client to use in/with the PS3's Linux (Fedora,YDL,Ubuntu)?

Edit: While we're at it could you (or anyone for that matter) list or post tutorials on all emu's working with the PS3? If put it together nice I will definitely sticky it.

I'm not familiar with MAME. I've never used it on linux or my windows pc. I was simply telling him how the method I had to use in order for my roms to open up under my genesis frontend. I will try to get that list of emulators that are confirmed to work as well as a tutorial to install them. I currently have a snes, nes, and genesis emulator all working all with graphical frontends. Give me a little time and I can come up with a tutorial on how to install each one.

I'm not sure but i'm guessing that 5.01 means that its got the WiFi fix?
I thought I had the one with the WiFi fix but i'm not sure. Can anyone advise me on a way to check? Or a way to get my Linux to pick up my router?
