I have been a faithful DVD Shrink user for a few years now. I have recently had windows reinstalled and had to reinstall all of my programs, update drivers etc
DVD Shrink completely shuts down once I hit backup. I have uninstalled at least 20 times, downloaded new copies and reinstalled, received good copies from friends and installed, tried numerous other DVD programs to no avail.
Can't for the life of me figure out why I can't backup DVD's from any of the programs I have. I prefer DVDShrink and would love to figure out what is wrong.
The only thing I can think of is the fact that I am running Avast and used to use Norton...
Try some of the backup software from DVDIdle, Slysoft, and/or InterVideo. That will tell you if it's Shrink or you've somehow created recording problems with your new OS installation.
Try some of the backup software from DVDIdle, Slysoft, and/or InterVideo. That will tell you if it's Shrink or you've somehow created recording problems with your new OS installation.Well I tried DVDIdle with CloneDVD and also Any DVD and to no avail. There must be something with my OS.
With regard to AVast.....I had problems with DVDShrink before installing Avast, had Norton issues and so I uninstalled Norton. It must be my OS....
For the moment I installed DVDShrink on my DH's computer and it works fine. I would really love to correct whatever problem I have with my OS though....I can see hours of work ahead...
Thanks so much for your help and if anyone comes up with any ideas....
silvrstsh,
Sounds like you need a registry cleaner as the symptoms you mentioned could be conflicts in the registry. You can try CCleaner and it is free:
