hello,

i had posted on another forum: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/54576
when my ad-1100a wouldn't recognize any dvd media. that seems to be, at least temporarily, fixed. next, dvd shrink won't complete a rip. about 3/4 of the way through it errors saying something about "program error: yadda yadda". i'll run it again and get the specific code but i had searched under that code before and found nothing on this forum.

anyone have any ideas?

Why don"t use use something like DVD Decrypter or SmartRipper to Rip the DVD to your HD ,then use DVD Shrink on the Ripped DVD??

How much space is let on your hard drive. Could you be running out of room for the ripped files?

Well the Only thing I can think of becides not haveing enough Disk Space is that the DVD Is Damaged or something...Can you see a Lot of Scratches on the DVD??

the last time i tried, there was 10.4gb of free space.

the dvd has minor scratches but nothing too rough.

i will open up more space, switch to a different dvd and try again.

thanks for the input, i'll try anything.

SUCCESS! ..sort of.

i got a good rip and after finding the nero guide i have a successful burn.

i burned a concert dvd and it was so large that i could only get high 50's in the main movie compression. it looks like crap. i cut out all the unnecessary audio and made the menu's into still pictures but still not enough room to make a quality picture.

is this common?
