Hi I'm new here and just learned about DVD Shrink. I downloaded it and just tried using it for the first time, but I seem to be having no luck. When I get to the very first part, where it analizes the dvd, it freezes when I get 41% everytime. I just can't seem to get around it.
Also, how would I use Nero and DVD Shrink together?
Thanks!

Are you ripping the DVD with DVDFab HD Decrypter before loading the files into DVD Shrink?
Run program, insert disk, select 'Main Movie' or 'Full Disk'
http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm
If you click 'Edit' > 'Preferences' > 'File I/O' and 'Enable burning with Nero', when you select 'Backup', one of the menu options is to burn the DVD with Nero.

Are you using Shrink in conjunction with any other program, much like attar alluded to? It would also help to say what title you are trying to back up. Is the disc badly scratched?

Well, I think it might have been just that dvd because I tried another and it went through just fine. I was trying Blades of Glory and that was the one that didn't work. I then tried X-men 3 and it worked, well up until I got to the burning process.

I have DVD Decrypter. Like I said, I just found out about this whole thing so I'm not too familiar with any of this.
I did a google search and came across the this forum: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/105641
I then proceded to follow the directions in "A ScubaPete Guide for DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter". And that's basically where I'm at now.
It won't seem to correctly burn to a DVD now, but I'm thinking I might not have the correct media. My burner is LG 18x External Super Multi DVD Rewriter. It says it's compatible with all forms of media. The disks I currently have are Memorex DVD+R 16x. Does anybody have any suggestions on good media? Also, should I go with RW instead?
Sorry, I'm new to this whole process so I'm sure I sound like an idiot to some. :-)

DVDFab HD Decrypter (not the same as DVD Decrypter) is updated to keep up with new protection schemes.
DVD Decrypter has not been updated for a number of years - although when used in conjunction with DVD Shrink, makes an excellent burning program.
Whichever burning program is being used, the burn speed should be less than the maximum for the media (4x is a safe conservative setting).
The better media will say 'Made in Japan' on the wrapper, failing that 'Verbatim' is a consistently reliable brand.

a-ha, see here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/550289 (though attar's given you all the relevant help to successfully rip this movie, i just like to keep one thread for each movie that's released)

in which case i'll close this thread once the guys have helped you with the X-men burning problem (it stops 100s of posters invading your thread about their woes with Blades of Glory)
