I'm on windows XP 64 and I've been having problems with DVD Decrypter, and DVD Shrink.
When I use DVD Decrypter, my computer completely bogs down and operates very slowly. Then after a minute of doing so, my computer will freeze completely and I need to do a hard shut down.
Then I used DVD FAB to rip the movie, and it worked fine. But I loaded DVD Shrink to shrink the files and this is the error message I get:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to open file "C:\memento\video_ts.IFO"
Can anyone help me with this issue? Thank you.
My build:
Windows XP 64 on a Q6600 quad core. Shouldn't have a problem, or so I thought!

Have you tried uninstalling DVD Shrink, run Ccleaner, reboot and reinstall? Memento is an older movie, I don't think DVD Shrink should have any problems with it.

will definitely try that. Thank you.
thing is, this is a new computer and I really don't think it should be having problems keeping up with dvd decrypter since it is a quad core.
I just successfully decrypted a movie by not doing anything while it was decrypting.
Shouldn't I be able to multitask like play games, listen to music, and such while DVD Decrypt is going on? Thanks

I just set the affinity to 1 of the 4 cores (not all 4). And then I changed the priority to low and it's working fine now! everything is smooth!

Hmmm, seems like I spoke too soon. I tried loading up Winamp and playing my playlist but it bogged the comp down really bad. It won't play music smoothly. Any ideas?
Actually, it won't load anything correctly while DVD Decrypter is going on!!! Oh no!!

I am having the same problem. My error message says:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to open file "C:\DVD Work\Erin\video_ts.vob"
It just says .VOB instead of .IFO.
I've been using DVD Decrypter to decrypt the movie (Erin Brocovich) in File Mode, ripping the "Main movie + IFOs" (under settings).
I did a few titles just fine, using one of the guides I found here and following it step-by-step. Now this disc and a newer one (Flicka) are both giving me this error.
I hate to post what is probably a silly question but I'm new to burning and I'm not very tech savvy so I'm hoping someone can walk me through it, that would be great.
Thanks!

@DeusExM
Could be that DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink are choking on the movie because they can't handle the protection on the disc and thus bogging down your system. I would try ripping with DVDFab HD Decrypter. It is free and updated often to cope with newer protections.
@melissaam
Quote: ripping the "Main movie + IFOs" (under settings).
If you are going to use DVD Decrypter you need to select all files in file mode, but I would recommend the same program as above simply because it is still being updated.
