Hi, I want to change the hard drive and was wondering if any of the following would work:

...without any problems as the PS3 is my friend's and not mine and I do not have the PS3 in my "custody."

Thanks in advance!

Go to www.ubuntu.com and try Linux! It's 100% free!

I don't see why they wouldn't but you have to format it once you installed it. As long as it is 2.5 sata drive things should work fine. I'm looking into a 250 gig hdd myself.

Like he said, as long as it's 2.5 SATA, it will fit. Why wouldn't it?

I upgraded my PS3 20 back in March to 120 gigs. The install took about 30 seconds.

like mr pink said ANY 2.5 sata drive will fit (2.5 denotes the width of the metal disk inside the hdd case),so any comp store online or at local shops will have a list of harddrives that you can buy, a review by cnet or it may have been techrepublic done recently recommend seagate & hitachi as the top two trouble free contenders,if i remember rightly western digital did'nt score well due to the amount of failed hdd complaints ,same goes for maxtor tho maxtor hdd's are now being made by seagate so their failure rates should drop quite considerably

EDIT: Best defence against hdd failure is cooling
