Severe Newbie needs help ripping movies using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter in easy step by step version. Which one do I use first with what settings and how do I get to the end with finished product. Also, is there a faster, easier way than these two programs?
Using Nero as burner. Thanks

If your DVDs are commercial then chances are they will have encryptions on them which need stripping first before you back-up the DVD.

This guide can help you to do so

However, if not, just set Decrypter to read mode or such and rip the dvd as an ISO, which you can then burn.

ddlooping was involved with DVD Shrink development for a long time and did several guides on how to use DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter.
http://www.dvdshrink.info/guides.php

Using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter in the RipIt4Me setup makes the programs work like a seamless one click program. RI4M has lost support, but still does all the releases, so far. You can get a download at Softpedia. Have the last versions of Shrink and Decrypter installed before installing the RI4M. All you need to do is open your DVD in RI4M using the 1-click mode. Don't use the ISO for rip mode. Don't skip any steps and let RI4M do the complete cleanup and open in Shrink. Then use Shrink as per instructions.

If you don't want to do that, you'll need to learn to use other decryption software, such as the free DVDFab HD Decrypter from DVDIdle. With that you decrypt the DVD files and then open the cleaned files in Shrink and again use Shrink as per directions.

AnyDVD is a nice driver decryption program, but it's retail.
