DVD Shrink is not a burning program. It uses Nero, DVDDecrypter or Imageburn for that purpose. If you use double layer media you don't need DVD Shrink at all. Use AnyDVD or DVDFab HD Decrypter and a burning program of your choice.
There is a reason someone "gave" you Memorex DLs....They are reguarded as very unreliable DL media. Use Verbatims, preferably made in Singapore.

Bilbo said it all. I would add that ImgBurn is regarded by most as the best out of them for DL discs, and BONUS its free.
Use the Memosux discs to practice your first few burns on, Dual Layer runs at a slower speed than regular ones. Look into booktyping those +R discs to read as DVD-ROM.
Use the rest for target practice.

The Memorex DL are manufactured by Ritek, the second best manufacturer of DL media. Ritek probably manufactures more DL these days than Verbatim judging from NPD statistics; so I suspect that at some point Ritek's expertise may surpass that of Verbatim. Of course, the facts never be allowed to interfere with peoples's opinions.

My opinions are personal and based on what has or has not worked for me. I will continue to use those programs and blank media which have been highly successful for me and will not try to use those that I have not been able to use successfully in the past. I also do not subscribe to trying to save a few pennies on supplies that I consider, for my procedures, to be questionable.
Let all those who prefer to use other branded media, do so. May they bring you much happiness in your burning life.....
P.S. Quantity does not necessarily equal quality...:-)

While it it true that quantity does not equal quality, there is a strong correlation in mass production as long as the processes are under control. In the case of DL media, it is the process that has posed the greatest problems for manufacturers. The first was eliminating the air bubbles that get trapped beneath L0. The second is reducing costs by eliminating the photo polymer stamper that gets tossed out. The more media one produces, the more experience one gains. And media, in mass production quantities, is always less expensive and higher quality from a factory that runs at 85% capacity or more with tight process control. (In tape manufacturing the coaters almost never stopped--flying splices and computer control allowed amazing uniformity for thousands of miles of tape. Except for the swap out of stampers due to wear, disc production is very similar.)

Although I admit things may have improved in the roughly 3-4 years since I vowed not to purchase Memosux discs ever again, I wont know because I find the right deals to get the good stuff so I never have to worry. My Mother Inlaw was nice enough to give me a 25 pack of Memosux 16x+R for Christmas last year. All the discs she's wanted me to burn for her have been on them and I havent used them for my own collection.
It does sound rather insulting and condescending to be told I'm acting like a cloned sheep instead of utilizing personal past experiences.

Once again I am letting past experiences guide current practices so I'm not really in the loop with Memosux resurrection into the "scene".
