ps3 controller won't sync when wireless

I've been having controller syncing problems for the last few days.

The controller is fully charged but will not sync when it is wireless. I have to connect up with the USB cable, sync and then unplug it before it works OK. I've tried the reset button in the back of the controller but that doesn't seem to sort it out either.

Any help would be great.

I had the same problem for a very long time. Try a full formate and a system restore. My didn't start working until my hard drive became corrupted and the whole system reset itself.

Yeah that's a good idea as it seemed to start happening at the last system update - 1.93 - which I suppose may have corrupted some system files.
I'd imagine a reformat and restore would lose all my demos and game data so it would be a last resort if i tried it.
