First off I hope I'm putting this post in the right place.
My daughter has cancer and told me that she always wanted a mod xbox360 so I wanted to try to do it for her. She don't know what I'm doing just in case I can't get it to work, she's got enough on her mind and I don?t want to be a bad dad.
I have read many things here and understand some but I need help from the pro's. I even read the hacking 360 for noobs but still don't understand what I'm doing. Here I go!
I'm using Vista on my PC and I bought and installed a blaster360 on my xbox360 and it looks to be working fine. I bought a 6421a card and a USB flash card so I can flash the firmware on my Samsung xbox drive F/W MS25. I download xtreme bootmaker and the firmware i read to use is ixtrem12.bin. After I bring up bootmaker I load the F/W but it wants a device ID and I/O port.
I think my Device ID is 06114932 but I dont understand the I/O port
My info for my card is
Name VIA RAID Controller - 3249
Manufacturer VIA Technologies, Inc.
Status OK
PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3249&SUBSYS_32491106&REV_50\4&195FCA8D&0&5020
I/O Port 0x0000BC00-0x0000BC0F
I/O Port 0x0000B800-0x0000B80F
I/O Port 0x0000B400-0x0000B40F
I/O Port 0x0000B000-0x0000B00F
I/O Port 0x0000AC00-0x0000AC1F
I/O Port 0x0000A800-0x0000A8FF
IRQ Channel IRQ 18
Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\viamraid.sys (5.1.6000.562, 112.25 KB (114,944 bytes)
I will pay someone to help me out on getting this working for her. It would be worth it to see her smile.

I just made a new problem for myself. I started reading more and used and computer running xp. I downloaded the firmware on the usb flash card and I did the idump and it said it worked I think. the directions said to reboot my pc and plug the xbox back in. After that it told me to go back into dos mode and type in iFlash and my serial # and hit enter. When I do that it comes back as no drive detected now. When I turn my xbox on now I get error code 65 on the TV. Did I mess up the box?

you didnt mess up anything most likely you should be able to recover your original firmware which should have back-ed up to that Flash Stick...
from there you can try to re-flash the original firmware or you can get another drive and spoof it...
the xbox is not broke if you have your original firmware....

i would try and hook up the dvd drive to the pc and see if it recognizes it...if it dont then the only thing left to do would be get a new 360 dvd drive and spoof it as your retail one...

You should grab ixtreme 1.2c if you want to use Live. If Live isn't a concern just get xtreme 5.3. Make a hacked firmware with one of those and the orig.bin you have and flash that onto the new drive. I'm guessing you should be able to handle that since you were able to dump your orig.bin.

I'm not sure what I'm doing any more. I have not doen anything yet with the new dvd drive I got. If anyone can point me to the right page on how to load F/W into a drive with no fimware in it. I was also wanting to know if I can use the f/w that I loaded onto my usb flash card but it was the one that messed up my first dvd drive.

You really did not need a new drive in the first place. You cannot brick a samsung like you can a hitachi. You can either use the bad flash method to re-write to the drive and if that doesnt work you can hotswap with the new drive you have.
If the firmware file on your usb stick is 256kb in size then the firmware is complete. Anything less than that is not a good dump.
Open your original firmware in firmware toolbox and make sure the key looks good. A good key will generally look like a bunch of random numbers.
If it matches these two descriptions there shouldnt be any problems flashing that firmware onto that drive.
Im sorry to hear about your daughters condition. It has to be hard dealing with something like that.
We will get your 360 working again.

If the TS-H943a dvd drive that I just bought don't have any F/W on it can I just use bootmaker and load extreme 53d-ms25.bin on it or do i need to do something before that.

Yes you can make an Xtreme firmware with bootmaker.
Use firmware toolbox or samtool to copy your drive key from the old drives firmware to the xtreme firmware and your ready to go.
