Hey i used to live in the states and that was where i bought my ps3. i hooked it up to my hdtv at home and it worked fine. i had the regular red, yellow, white cables and the hdmi one too. Every was great. recently i moved to swtizerland and i tried it on my tv and it doesnt work. I know i need the adapter thing for the back of the tv and it still doesnt work. then i took it over to my friend's place and he has a panasonic hdtv. He had the regular red, yellow, white slots and i plugged it right in. and still no picture comes up. Anyone know why?
i think the run on different voltage over there.. we use 120 and i think they got 240 . Which means you need an adaptor to plug it in to the wall without burning the thing out. Another reason could be that tvs uses PAL system in europe and we use NTSC system which means the tv u got over there,(if is not the same one u had here), runs on PAL and can;t decode the signal from the PS3
It sholdnt be the voltage because i bought an adapter fpor that and the ps3 turns on fine. the light is green. Also i packed it in its orignial box with the foam and i even added a few layers of bubble wrap. I looked around online and i notice they sell ntsc to pal converters. wouldd these work?
you dont have to have a volatge converter for the ps3 because the ps3 has a volatage converter all ready build in to it you just need a europe pc/kettle lead to use as a power lead in stead of the usa one because I got my ps3 from america and I just changed the usa lead for a europen pc/kettle and it works fine
you can try holding the power button down when you turn it on to change the display output. Not sure if that will work considering the area you are in and where you purchased it.................
Hey there, sorry to her about your troubles. Is the ps3 turning on or is ther just not picture? I tohught i had this problem too. When i got my hdmi cable and plugged it in nothing. This was because my PS3 was set on component in the display settings, so al lu have to do is try a differnt output( wht even u were using before) go to display, and change it to the desired output. HDmi or coponent.
