This is a first for me, recently i got some discs that during encoding with DVD Shrink, two of them suddenly freeze and the following message appears:
DVD Shrink has encounter an error and cannot continue.
Programming error - exception ocurred
But the rest do complete "succesfully" the encoding on DVD Shrink, but when i play them on my standalone player, they freeze at specific points... the weird part is that if i play them on a PC, they will play smoothly with no errors.
The discs supposedly have no copy proteccions, but i have run them first with DVD Decrypter and DVDFab Decrypter, and even so they report succesfull process, i still get the same results i mentioned before.
I use Windows XP SP2, reinstalled DVD Shrink and have scanned my PC for viruses, spyware, malware, adware, etc. (all updated recently) and i have none, even tried using another PC and got the same results.... unless there's a recent bug or problem that could cause this.
Does anybody knows or has an idea of what could be the problem? I realize that all may be that the discs are bad, but i'm concerned that's not the case, since i never had problems after "successfully" decrypting and encoding discs... any help or advice will be appreciated.

It means that the disc is not properly mastered or DVD compliant. While it may play just fine I doubt that you will be able to rerip the disc.

Do they play in a stand alone player?

These things shouldn't have anything to do with your problem.

Thanks LOCOENG for replying, i really appreciate it taking time to clear my doubts and concerns regarding my recent problem with those discs i got.
I tried everything to find the reason for this problem (and possible solution) from decrypting "successfully" all discs to HD with DVD Decrypter or DVDFab Decrypter, before i analize them with DVD Shrink as usual, to even trying DVD Shrink to decrypt and encode directly with no difference... either DVD Shrink completed encoding "successfully" or froze during the process.
I defragmented my HD, checked for OS problems, runned CCleaner, and scanned for viruses, spyware, malware, adware, etc. even tried using another PC, and i still got the same results i mentioned before. Since then i tried other discs and had no problem as usual, therefore the problem is not hardware or software related.
Indeed the video in the discs were not properly mastered, since i found that was encoded CBR interlaced, showing presence of pixelation and macroblocks, also when played on a standalone player, all discs froze at some point while played smoothly on my PC DVD RAM, in short the video on those discs were a mess.
What i find disturbing is that DVDFab Decrypter and DVD Decrypter showed no errors while decrypting them into the HD, and DVD Shrink showed no inconvenience analysing them, in some cases even manage to encode them.

I am getting the same programming error with DVD Shrink.
I have used DVD Shrink for years with no problems.
I have Windows XP and a sony DRU 830A.
The drive is only 5 months old.

How did Sony determine that your ASPI was corrupt?

Pretty easy fix though. The link above explains everything.

I ran their drive check utility and sent them the file by email.
I updated the aspi file to the newest version.
Still have the problem.
need to re-send them the results again.
