Download the 3.71 M33 CFW HERE.

Download the 3.71 Official firmware HERE.

Rename the EBOOT.PBP file to 371.PBP and place it in the UPDATE folder that came in the 3.71 M33 CFW download.

Now drag the UPDATE folder to your /PSP/GAME folder and run the update via Game Menu Memory Stick.

After the update finishes make sure you go to System Software and see if it says 3.71 M33.

If it does go to the /PSP/GAME folder delete the UPDATE folder.

Now download the 3.71 M33-2 update HERE.

Drag the UPDATE folder (No additional files need to be added) to /PSP/GAME folder and run the 3.71 M33-2 update via Game Menu Memory Stick.

Now your updated to 3.71 M33-2

no. the slim doesn't accept the 1.50 addon. you can run it, but it will say it's only for the standard (fat) psp.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

If you have official firmware on your PSP SLIM then no you can not update using this method. You will need to use this Method HERE (You will need a 3.XX custom firmware PSP FAT/SLIM with FAT Battery to create the Pandora Battery to add the 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware on your PSP SLIM).

nope. You will end up with a bricked battery.

Why would I say not to convert the SLIM battery if you could?

Thats just as annoying as telling a newbie that the only way to downgrade their 3.51 PSP is by using a Pandora Battery, Then in the next post they ask is there any other way?

I know there are Hardmod options for the Slim/Fat battery but I tend not to promote that due to messing with the battery itself. I would feel like crap if I found out some kid blew his hand off by trying to Mod his Slim battery after I had suggested it.

I've read the whole thread and I feel more and more confused.

Are slim PSP downgradable? Can downloaded games be played or not? If the answers to all these answers are yes please just point to a thread, for a newbie who never had any experience in PSP whatsover, where everything is explained.

I am still waiting for a definite answer before I press the button BUY. The quicker the answer, the better because it is a Christmas present for my son.

THANKS

I love Malta

No PSP SLIMS can not be downgraded. Yes custom firmware can be installed on a SLIM and you can play ISO/CSO and other compatible homebrew on the SLIM. To install custom firmware on a SLIM go HERE. In the mean time I would suggest doing some research on all of this. There is plenty of information here at this forum and many others.

You can not use your official firmware PSP to create the Universal Unbricker/Upgrader. You need a PSP FAT/SLIM that has a custom firmware already installed on it. After you create the universal unbricker 3 with the custom PSP you can then use it in your PSP SLIM 3.60 to install the 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware on it.

Actually, you can download the Total Newbi installer or whatever for Pandora. Then you open up your battery and cut out the 5th pin or something like that. This requires skill and patience.

That's the link to TotalNewbi Installer. I suggest that you do the soldering stuff to downgrade your PSP.
