Basically i've been trying to stream music mainly and maybe videos from my pc to the ps3. I've tried turning on sharing on wmp11 but the pc cannot 'see' my ps3 and vice versa. Also i've tried using tversity and again nothing shows up when searching with my ps3. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

what kind of connection do you have ? do you have a router ? You need to check if your network is done properly.... There is plenty threads about that topic.

I have read countless threads on different forums i was just hoping to get more direct advice. For the record i have a Belkin F5D9230-4 G+ MIMO wireless router and i can play games online and use the internet on my ps3 with no problem with a signal of 95%. I have UPnP enabled on my router and available on my ps3 and the NAT type is 2 which is good according to other forums so i don't see what the problem is

Ok try this. Setup your connection settings on your ps3 manually. Enter all of your information as normal until you get to primary dns. When you get that section give that the same number thats on your router ip(I think that a belkin is 192.168.2.1). Leave secondary dns all zeros. That should take care of the problem but you also need to setup your computers network settings the same way. If you need help let me know.

You posted that link but he has probably tried all of the things in that thread as I did when I had trouble for months. Try my fix thats what worked for me. As said before if you need help just ask me.

I'm having the same problem, my ps3 and wmp 11 does not recognize each other. I tried entering all the information manually, but still nothing shows up. any further clues would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Best not to use WMP 11 as it wont stream MP4 movies.
Set up TVersity instead, only gripe with this software it wont automatically open the ports in windows firewall.
You have to manually add TVERSITY.EXE and MEDIASERVER.EXE to your firewall.

I prefer Cyberlink Media Deluxe over TVersity.

I tried that too, wasnt overly impressed, kept dropping connection and wasnt showing mpeg4 files.
M2TS streamed great but i was soon back to TVersity.

Yeah, I found that strange that it didn't show mp4's, lately all I have been using is m2ts files though... and that is why I switched. Also TVersity kept crashing my new Vista PC, although it worked fine on my old XP.

Yeah i started using M2TS on the fact that we could have our X264 video with surround AC3, sweet!
I think they are working on awhole new update for TVersity including new GUI.

Even better is that m2ts is not restricted to 4gb like mp4 is, and the AC3 5.1 will play straight from the HDD unlike any other file type.
