Hi, my fellow computer geeks/nerds in the know tell me that vista has a lot of DRM issues and that copying/backing up programs may have lots of hiccups with vista. That said, I am not sure that dvdShrink is vista compatible, and if not, a patch 4 it is probably not forthcoming from microsoft.Suggestion-- sorry but u may have 2 hose(remove/uninstall) off vista from your hdd and reinstall Xp.
All the best

Why not use the Shrink uninstaller in the Shrink folder to uninstall and do a fresh reinstall and see if that helps. Shrink is very fast with my Vista system.

I should have asked whether you are processing ripped files from the HDD or if you're processing directly from the DVD?

This is on my laptop so I only have the one drive. But it's taking me 45 minutes just to encode and the Shrink install is a new install. Since yours is working with Vista, I'll download a new copy and try again.
