I'm not really sure about 3.51 M33 but when I upgraded to 3.52 M33, I didnt need to change the settings for my kernel. It was on 3.03 but it went fine. I think it doesnt really matter.
psplife: Ceramic White 2.71 TA-082> 1.5> 3.03OE-C> installed custom themes> semibricked on the 3rd try> 1.5> 3.30OE-A> 3.10OE-A'> 3.03OE-C> 3.40 OE-A> 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33 update 4 > 3.71M33 > 3.71M33-3

Boggzy - did you go to 3.52 m33 from 3.03 OE? So I can use it for 3.40 OE-A yeah? I don't know if I should change it to 1.5 kernel either before running the winstaller.

OK, before I take the plunge: I am on 3.40 OE, do I need to go first to 3.51 M33 or can I go straight to 3.52 M33 and then 3.52 M33-2?

Absolute n00b to the site...I've owned my PSP for about a month and I've been lurking and reading all the forums about how to downgrade and upgrade...
So today (after purchasing Lumines) I decided to give this a go...
I went from 3.40 -> 3.50 -> 1.50 -> 3.52M33 with ease because of the great tutorials on or in connection with this site.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone!! You guys are awesome!
2.81 --> 3.40 --> 3.50 --> 1.5 --> 3.52M33

Please help,
I can not seem to update to 3.52,
keep getting a partial brick.
I have restored back to 1.5 a couple of times now but
can make it all the way to 3.51 m33-7.
I am using the same file that psp1515 has in his post.
I dont think I am using a custom xmb? how do I check?
Thanks for any help, you guys rock.

Thanks alot, that did the trick.
Your link has a period at the end of it that caused it not to work.
I just copied the link into my browser and deleted the period and hit enter and it took me to the download link for the correct file.
Thanks again.

are you using the correct option for the firmware you are updating from? i updated from 3.40oe so i choose the 2nd option down,if you are updating from 1.50 choose the top option, then let it install into the correct folder,it takes a while, bear with it,once installed into the correct folder the winstaller will say finished, turn your psp on access the games under the memory stick and your installer will be there,it shouldnt be corrupt, just open it and install.
