i just brought a new PS3 in singapore but i live in australia, i got it micro chipped so i could play my ps2 games and all that in oz but when i tryed to it said i cant use the games cause there region restricted. can anyone tell me how to get around that or something i dont wanna lose all the games i got for my PS2? thanks
i dont know the guy at the store said i needed a chip in it so i could play ps2 games and different region games in the ps3 because i live in a different region to were i brought the thing. when i put a ps2 game in it still says region restricted but thats not suppose to happen cause it has some kinda chip. (i think its the same as a chip in the ps2 so you can play burnt games... not sure)

No chips exist for the PS3, PS2 ones wont works either. There is no way for you to play those games yet, other than the "swap switch" which has a tutorial stickied at the top of this forum.
