DVD Shrink only works with DVD compliant files.
Torrents are most likely different flavors of .avi files which need a converter. If its a .rar you must extract the contents to see whats inside, then use your converter.
People will say I gave you too much information already. You will not get much help around here when you readily admit to downloading (stealing) copy written materials, even if it is just kids cartoons.
Have you been able to open or view the files you have?

you probably have to convert the files into dvd files before you burn. Try a program like convertxtodvd or avi2dvd to do this.

Thanks for clarifying Creaky, I'm not trying to be cop just trying to let someone know the rules w/out talking down.
I myself use Nero Vision, and free program I've used a little is
SUPER!!!
It lacks the GUI of most favored programs but still does what I want.
_EDIT_ If it is RAR'd still, we need to make sure jwccwj knows how to extract it before going much further.

I forot about dvdflick. I have also only had limited use with it as I prefer convertx, but flick seems to be pretty good for a free program and should do the trick.
@deadrum, could they have already watched it if it were still still in a packed file? I think it would have to be already open wouldn't it?

I broke my own rule about being sure to read everything before replying.
He probably wouldnt have watched them already if they are still a .rar file.

Still confused and even more frustrated, the files are AVI files and they are not rar files. The files are located are on my C: drive under downloads, there are 24 files there in total they are all avi format.I played around with dvd flick and it cant convert all the 24 files to dvd at once and i tried to do it in batches but i can't seem to add the new convertedly files to the previously converted files. Why does dvd shrink not reognize these files when i try to shrink them???Does dvd shrink compress avi files?Does it matter if i have viewed the files because i have watched some of the episodes already,i just cant get shrink to recognize them?
Thanks.
Jamie.

dvd shrink only processes dvd compliant files. .avi files are not dvd files. Therefore we have to make them dvd files before we can get shrink to do anything with them. What does dvd flick say when you try to put all 24 files in the program? If you try to take the entire folder your avis are saved in, and drop it into flick, what message does it give you? Depending on the size of all those files, you may have to adjust the settings in Flick to allow you to place more than 4.7 gb of files in there, as that is the default output target. to do this, click project settings at the top, click General settings then try to select DVD DL as your target size. Now try to place all those files in there... there is no reason it shouldn't allow 1000 files if you wanted, as long as it doesn't go over that target you have set.
Edit: once you have success getting the files ready to convert, make sure you select "edit titles" from the right menu and select to "create chapters on every new video source" This *should* create a new chapter for each Episode of Dora.
