I used to be able to rip and then burn the files using DVD Shrink, but one day it stopped letting me burn the files. Could someone explain why?

Hi ali887
I'm guessing you Nero since Shrink doesn't have it's own burn engine and uses Nero's.
Post the burn log. If you didn't save it here's where to find it and how to post it - link

That could be a couple of things, binkie 7 mentioned a problem with Nero. If using Nero the log would be handy. If Shrink is simply not opening the DVDs, that may be due to copy protection. Do you have anything besides Shrink for bypassing encryption and copy protection? Also, if you have Nero, what version are you using?

This is a successful one - but we can still give you suggestions from it.
Update the firmware - the latest is LE07 - here's a link:
http://ca.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp
Click on device driver then dvd-rom (writer) under product, pick your os - XP then type in E10l under subject to get the firmware.
CdRomPeripheral : LITE-ON DVD+RW SOHW-802S atapi Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off
Turn DMA on for this drive - may not be playing into the burn failure but best to be in DMA mode - guide
Burn process completed successfully at 16x
Take the burn speed down to 8x.
File 'Drivers\InCDfs.SYS':
If you're not using InCD (been known to cause problems) uninstall it and run the InCD clean tool.
Gives those a go and let us know. Fails - then post the new log.
