Hello.
There are some issues that need addressing.
First, it appears you installed Nero 7 over the top of Nero 6 since there are some Nero 6 remnants reporting. This isn't usually a good idea. I would recommend, running both the Nero 7 and Nero 6 Clean Tools and then reinstalling Nero 7.
http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-cleantools.html
You'll probably want to change the target output size in DVD Shrink to 4400 or 4350mb to avoid burning too close to the outer edge of the disk. In Shrink:
Edit -> Preferences... -> Preferences tab
Under the Target DVD size menu, select "Custom" and then enter 4350 or 4400 into the MB box.
I'm guessing you have a Sony laptop with this Panasonic burner. Have you checked Sony's support site for a firmware update for your burner?
Laptop burners can be finicky. I would suggest slowing your burn speed to 4X from 8X and seeing if that helps.
Another thing you might try is to output an ISO image file from DVD Shrink and then use the free burning engine ImgBurn to burn the image on to a blank.

is it possible that neroi 6 was preinstalled on my laptop when i brought it even though it comes with a nero 7 cd to install?
what happened was i have a trail version of office 2007 and i went and deleted it without checking if activation would be free then tried to install office 2003 which flat out refused to run, somethign hinky with the disc so i did a system restore to get office back and it took away my icons for nero so i uninstalled it then reinstalled,
everything worked fine for a while then it started acting up but i am going to try what you have suggested
