I'm using ripit4me and shrink with nero. All of a sudden what used to take me ten minutes in shrink now takes over an hour and the same with ripit4me. My burning in NERO, however, hasn't changed. I did download DVDfabHD and used that a couple of times but decided to uninstall it. Is my speed issue due to this DMA issue that I've been reading about here on this forum. Thanks all...
Hi kieljo, i had the same problem about 6 months ago,try unistall the ide channels in device manager and reboot and let windows reinstall, worked for me.
BTW a bit of good advice download DVDFabHD now 4.0.1.2 as its one piece of armoury you should'nt be without, its updated almost weekly and i still hav'nt have a DVD it cant handle.

I doubt you have a DMA problem, because of that phrase. I would look in to other things like, are you multitasking while operating these programs, look in Task Manager, do you have more processes running than you used to, don't forget, are you using more Memory than you used to?
Conjecture can run rampant until you ask a few questions. It may not be the burning, but it could still be DMA off. Depends on the drive configuration and what went DMA off, if any drive(s) did. A good example is a dual drive PC. The burner could be used only for burning and stay DMA on and the reading drive go DMA off (PIO). Simply look in the last Nero log and see or look in the Device Manager.
