here is a great way in getting ur favourate movies to ur psp these are 2 great programes

You will need the following software for this guide

dvd shrink found here http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_.../dvd_shrink.cfm

for new movies use dvd fab found here http://dvdfab.com/free.htm
thanks too binkie for pointing that out :)

and 3GP Converter here

http://www.nurs.or.jp/~calcium/3gpp/3GP_Converter034.zip
or
http://download.videohelp.com/download/3GP_Converter034.zip

ok first u will need to use dvd shrink guide here
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/..._dvd_shrink.cfm

after that 3gp Converter

Unzip the 3GP Converter. ZIP file into a directory of your choice, and run setup.exe.

You may see a bunch of weird characters, but don't worry, it's set to Japanese by default. Scroll down to the bottom of the 3GP Converter Set-up window and select English.

Scroll down to MP4, for PSP (Direct, renamed) the then press Apply. This is the setting for conversion of video files to MPEG-4 format that can be played by the PSP, and renamed so your PSP recognizes it

Now, the 3GP Converter program window is open (if not, you can double-click the 3GP_Converter.exe program to run it). Click the browse button to choose where you want your converted PSP MP4 video files go example my videos.

Now drag whatever file you want to convert into MPEG-4 format into the blank area of the program window.

When the program is finished converting the video into MP4 format, the program will rename the file something like M4V90268.MP4.

Set-up the USB connection on your PSP to copy video files over to the correct folder for videos which is MP_ROOT\100MNV01. only drage the video file not the thm file. after it has transferred exit usb mode scroll down to the video press x and there is your video. injoy ur film :)

it has come to my att that some people are having trouble playing movies on psp versions 3.52m33-4 to 3.80m33-4/5 if u are having trouble here's what to do .when u exit usb mode and try to play the movie under video and there is no video there connect back up to usb mode go the the MP_ROOT\100MNV01 right click mouse on the mp4 film select cut then go to the video folder on the main screen of the psp and paste the mp4 there.

DVD Shrink removes the copy protection on the movie and rips and compresses it to your hard drive.
Since it's no longer updated and can't handle some of the newer movies it's probably better to rip w/ DVDFab HD Decrypter (free) then convert w/ 3GP.
Or run AnyDVD (not free but 21 day trial) in the background w/ Shrink.

@hoip
Shrink vs. Decrypter or did you mean 3GP vs psp video 9?
Can't help on the later 2 - I usually use Recode which takes about 40 mins (depends on the size of the movie)

@mrgooey
Here's a free one - AutoGK
