Hi guys,

I'm sure there are threads about this already, I did try searching but couldn't find anything.

Basically, I'm wanting to know if there is any way to establish connectivity between my PC and the PS3, ie, is it possible for the PS3 to access files shared on the PC and vice versa?

I'm aware this can be done simply by using a USB device like an external hard drive, but I'd really like a proper way of doing it if possible.

You can actually setup a Network at your Home, and put both the PC and the PS3 on it. Then when the PS3 detects the PC, you can tick the PC on the PS3, and press Triangle on the Controller, and tick Show All, and it will show the files that are shared over the network, and this way you can copy files from the PC and store them on the PS3.

I just set my computer up as a webserver at it's local IP address. Then go to the browser and type in the IP and download stuff. It's not too bad but PS3 downloads are really slow. I've moved to just burning DVD's and copying to HDD that way.

Try a program called tversity if it is media that you are trying to access. You can leave all of your media in your computer and just stream it to your ps3 and copy stuff to your ps3 hdd. You can also use another program called red kawa file server to get things from your pc to ps3.
