wot i would like to know is can i get my ps3 to run off my bradband cable eathernet modem i dont mean though eathernet i know you can do that
wot i mean is i have a netgear wireless usb adapter if i plug that in and some-how work out how to make it act as an access point though my modem could the ps3 run off it
i dont really want to go full wireless coz i think eathernet is better for online gameing ect...............
if anyone could give me some info i will be greatful

You can sometimes use ad-hoc networking to make a wireless NIC an access point. I don't know how to set this up under XP but it's most likely possible.

Also, you can use your computer on wireless and connect your PS3 through an ethernet crossover cable and share the internet connection from your wireless PC to your PS3 connected through ethernet.

yeah i thought so i kind-of done this yesterday but it didnt last long i wonder how to fully st this up then ?????????????????
i tried it with xp and couldn't get the settings right i also done this with vista and thats when i got the connection if anyone could help on this please feel free

em that question kinda confused me, em but u could rig the ethernet throught your pc and use the internet throught that, just tweak a few settings.

the eathernet is though my pc i want to make my netgear wg111t wireless usb adapter in to an access point so that i can use my ps3 wirelessly coz im sick of changing my eathernet lead over everytime i want to use one or the other

I'm not sure if this is possible. You'd need special software for this. Your wireless card would be acting as a router. There may be a way to do this, but it's above and beyond XP or Vista's capabilities-if your wireless card will do it at all.
