How to burn dvd in Ps3 40gb

I started this thread because I want to burn the dvd which I buy to the HDD of Ps3 40gb please tell me how to do it. Do I have to upgrade my version yes or no.

First of all it would be called Ripping the DVD not Burning. You can't do this on PS3 because then anyone could just rent a DVD and easily copy it to their PS3..

wouldn't it be burning, though, considering (s)he would be mastering a readable disc? im pretty sure thats what they were getting at.

Lemnur wants to copy the DVD to his Harddrive so this means it would be ripping,Burning is when you copy TO blank media.

This clearly means he wants to copy it TO the Harddrive,notice that he says "TO the HDD" and not FROM.Sometimes people dont put their questions properly which leads to confusion,ive seen this quite a few times on AFTERDAWN.

It also may be possible to burn movies on the PS3 through an external DVD Rewriter.
